The shoot from my self devised aimed to portray the emotional weight of navigating personal identity within a judgemental society. I wanted to highlight the disconnection of one’s true self and what you present to the world. The distorted aesthetics symbolise the scrutiny of others and how something like clothes can have such a mental impact. The imagery portrays the complex emotional relationship my consumers have towards their appearance and I feel the aesthetic suits my consumers’ visual language.

For my final major project in the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Foundations Diploma in Art, Design, and Media Practice, I created a series of images titled 'Urban Distortion.' These images were used to design five distinct magazine covers under the title 'SOSH,' representing the idea of going out and socializing. The project aimed to highlight the distortion of identity in today's society. It featured a handmade garment crafted using various mixed media techniques, including Lino print, painting, and sewing."

A collection of fun mixed media images I created interpreting the phrase "Accepting Defeat" for my Pearson BTEC Level 3 Foundations Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice at Newcastle and Stafford College groups

Throughout my creative journey, I've undertaken numerous self-initiated projects. One such project was a series of images I called 'Throwback,' where I drew inspiration from 80s visual aesthetics.

For my optional module in the second year of my degree, we were tasked with developing a self-initiated project, allowing us to explore a theme of our choice. Inspired by the concept of communication without words, I embarked on creating a series of imagery encapsulating this idea.

A concept created in the first year of my degree, as a group we were assigned the trend rebellion and the final outcome would be a photoshoot which represented our idea, as well as incorporating our assigned item 'shoes'. Our big idea statement was “Celebrate and welcome new forms of rebellion to encourage individuality through experimentation”.
